A biomass steam generating facility for Silangan Poultry Farms is currently being developed under a 10-year Build, Operate and Transfer Agreement. The project will make use of coconut shells in the surrounding areas, as fuel, to generate up to 4 tons of steam per hour, which will be sold to and utilized to produce hot water for scalding and to supply Vapor Absorption Chillers to meet the extensive refrigeration/cold storage and chilled water needs of the chicken dressing plant. The project will result in significant savings in electric power to the existing cooling systems of the dressing plant.
