Biomass Gasification |
The Benefits
Efficient
Efficiencies in gasification range from 70% to 85% depending on the mode in which the gas is being used. Efficiency is defined here as that part of the biomass energy that is available in the producer gas generated from the biomass.
Our biomass gasifiers provide an efficiency of 80-85% in Hot Gas Mode and an efficiency of 70-75% in Scrubbed Gas Mode.
Can be applied over a range of output ratings
The biomass gasifiers are available from a size of 5 kW to 850 kW. These can be used for generating power and also for thermal applications
Thermal operation and electricity generation
The output of Gasifiers is a gas called Producer Gas. This gas can be used for any and all applications that a fossil fuel (coal, LDO, Natural Gas etc.) is currently used for. Thus it can be used as fuel in furnaces, Thermic oil heaters, boilers etc. At the same time we can use this gas to produce electricity (the gasifier needs to be coupled to a generator for this).
Low Initial Investment and Power Production
As the fuel is Biomass, the cost of fuel is also much reduced (as compared to fossil fuels). Thus the unit cost of energy generation becomes very low.
Output of Gasification is GAS |
This conversion of a solid into a gaseous fuel is advantageous in a number of ways has the following advantages :-
|
 |
Allows better process control and convenience |
 |
Cleaner combustion in connected equipment |
 |
Elimination of all pollution related to Biomass use |
