Our Strategy

FutureNrg is a Total Solution Provider in the development of renewable, alternative and waste-to-energy projects primarily under Build-Own-Operate (BOO), Build-Own-Operate and Transfer (BOOT) vehicles. For each project opportunity, FNRG undertakes the essential feasibility evaluations, manages the pre-development activities, including permitting and then undertakes the implementation of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) activities, plant testing and commissioning and ultimately the operations and maintenance of the plants.

FutureNrg’s business focuses on three major Market Segments:

1. Biomass To Renewable Energy-Distributed Generation and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Projects:

  • Biomass Gasification for rural electrification, captive power and grid-connected plants with capacities up to 4 Mwe
  • Conventional Steam Cycle power plants apply for larger capacity Projects

2. Waste to Energy

  • Anaerobic Digestion, Biogas Capture to Energy for a variety of waste streams (manure, food and green wastes)
  • Plasma Gasification of Industrial, Municipal, Medical and Hazardous Wastes

3. Sustainable Crude Palm Oil Mills ("Green Mills")

  • Empty Fruit Bunch processing into revenue-producing products: Dried Long Fibre (DLF) and Dry Short Fibres (DSF) which can be used to produce Bio-fuel Pellets
  • Anaerobic Digestion Biogas Capture of Palm Oil Mill Effluents, produces renewable energy for DLF/Pelleting process, for mill use and/or sale to grid
  • Integrated Total Solution for Solid waste and Effluent management challenges at Palm Oil Mills
  • Provides attractive additional revenues that can be a meaningful percentage of a Mill’s PAT

FutureNrg focuses selectively on projects that satisfy the following important criteria:

1. For Biomass to Energy Projects:

  • Focus is on Distributed Generation projects; small to medium size plant capacities
  • Focus is on projects where the sources of feedstocks are guaranteed by bankable entities or where feedstocks are sourced from sustainable sources (i.e. plantations or energy crops)
  • CHP and tri-generation projects that can achieve high levels of value addition in terms of energy savings in environments with high energy costs
  • Rural Electrification and/or projects involving the replacement of high-cost fossil fuel generation

2. For Waste to Energy Projects:

  • Focus on markets with strong regulatory environments and high levels of enforcement
  • Focus on markets where above environment properly values the costs of treatment and disposal and appropriately provide treatment fees for waste management
  • Focus on areas with High-energy costs and/or regulatory mandated Feed-in-Tariffs and other incentives

3. For Sustainable Crude Palm Oil Mill Projects:

  • Focus on Joint ventures with “bankable” mill owners to ensure long-term contractual access to feedstocks
  • Guaranteed Off-take of Biomass end-products produced (i.e DLF and/or Bio-fuel pellets)
  • Large and generally untapped market meeting with increasing regulatory enforcement of environmental performance

FutureNrg’s activities are currently focused mainly in Asia where the problems of compounding waste and the need for energy resources and, in particular, the needs for renewable, alternative energy to substitute fossil fuel generation and reduce carbon emissions are acute and urgent.
